Photo Protocol Labels
Data collectors may use the following Word documents to identify and label each transect during the collection process. Collectors may edit, print, and attach these labels to clipboards (or print larger and attach to larger boards).
Photo Label Sign
As the user progresses around the macroplot:
- Circle the transect corner they are shooting (these are laid out in order according to the protocols).
- When done, draw a line through the transect corner. Move onto the next corner and circle it prior to shooting.
The data collector should substitute:
- State FIPS
- County
- Segment ID
- Point Number
- Date
Ecological Site Sign
The data collector should substitute:
- State FIPS
- County
- Segment ID
- Point Number
- Date
- Ecosite Number
- Ecosite Name
Soil Pit Sign
The data collector should substitute:
- State FIPS
- County
- Segment ID
- Point Number
- Date
- Map Unit Symbol
- Component
Miscellaneous Photo Sign
This sign can also be used to document the plant census of the macroplot or photos documenting the high and low end of the dry weight ranking. Label the sign if used for either of these protocols.
The data collector should substitute:
- State FIPS
- County
- Segment ID
- Point Number
- Date
- Plant Name (common, scientific, or code. If unknown use UNK)
- Very brief disturbance type
Forage Suitability Group Sign
The data collector should substitute:
- State FIPS
- County
- Segment ID
- Point Number
- Date
- FSG Number
- FSG Name
